Trax2burn review

www.trax2burn.com Site up since ?

Trax2burn is the second full Flash site I came across. They've got just over 20 labels and you can't browse the catalog by genre.

File format on sale is MP3 encoded at 192 Kbps.

Format Quality Price
MP3 192 Kbps £0.99

Hiqh quality previews are played through the built-in preview player and are about 1 minute in duration.

The site looks semi-professional but turned out to be surprisingly usable. Some information like the available file format was confusingly available on the Contact page and I could not find any information about the company behind trax2burn. Nevertheless, I was tempted to make my first purchase right away.

Registration was simple, but logging in was not. The site kept throwing me back to the Please Log In page, and after several attempts to login again I realized I was logged in already. A tip to the developers: checkout and registration are not the places to mess with users' trust by cutting corners. I was automatically redirected to worldpay.com for credit card payment which basically means credit card information has to be entered again on every purchase. Good for securiy, bad for usability. Going back to the trax2burn site, my bought tracks were available for download on the Purchases page.
