| www.digibag.com | Site up since 2004 (I guess) |
Based on their Top 5 list Digibag seems to be selling only deep house. There are around 30 labels on the site and not many more artists listed in the navigation — I wonder if every artist has their own label in this scene? Some tracks are unreleased, which in the online world unfortunately also translates as non-mastered.
Sales are in MP3 or WAV formats. I could not find help on the site apart from the support topic in the forum (which requires registration for viewing... doh) so I don't know if the WAV files are really downloadable. For the same reason I have no clue as to what is the quality of the files. Fortunately pricing was available on the front page:
| Format | Quality | Price |
|---|---|---|
| MP3 | ? | $1.50 |
| WAV | ? | $2.00 |
There is a separate Flash based preview player for each track on the site appearing as a tiny play button next to the tracks. The Digibag have reduced usability further by not connecting the players to each other: pressing play on a track does not stop the previous track! Maybe this is the new wave of online mixing...
The design of Digibag is messy, loading pages takes forever, help isn't there and the catalog is limited. Do I need to say more?
