MTV wants to claim the place of the n:o 1 music video destination from YouTube, by opening up their vast video archive. Apparently this has been online in the US already, with the social features expected from such a site (friends, playlists, etc).

Google Docs PDF Viewer

Google Docs can now store and view PDFs, without a browser plugin. I think this is a major feature, and when Gears comes of age only marketing and old habits will keep the majority of people stuck with Office.

And not only is this is a truly useful feature, this must also be the fastest PDF viewer around…

Online PowerPoint from India

I don’t know how I’ve missed this, but a co-founder of Hotmail has launched “the first Indian startup”, aiming to create an online office suite. A year ago. They only have “PowerPoint” for now, but it’s a start.

From a work perspective, it is interesting to see such applications developed in Flex rather than “AJAX” (is there a better/proper name for “standard browser technologies” nowadays?).

You can now add a todo list in GMail. Very basic task list features, very well executed (as is the norm with Google).
