&lt;p&gt;I remember reading somewhere that in the 80's, the world went crazy about "quality", and formed separate Quality Departments. And the same thing happened with "strategy" - it was something important, therefore you needed a separate Strategy Department. And I think the same thing happened with "security" and a couple of other things.  Now, the same thing might be happening with "user experience".&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;As far as I know, all of these approaches have failed. You can't separate something that should be built-in in what you do.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;ps. not referring to any particular company in this post&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;pps. your blog layout doesn't really work on Internet Explorer 6, unless you maximize the window&lt;/p&gt;
